So what was the area like? If you have never been to this side of the UK you will surprised at how flat it is. As I think it was Noel Coward who said when asked about Norfolk, 'very flat Norfolk'.
Well Lincolnshire and neighbouring Norfolk are flat making for good driving roads when space allows. If you like long open stretches with no traffic where the roads just beg for you to put your foot down you will love it. If you get frustrated at roads with to many speed cameras and drivers you cannot pass because the roads are to narrow you will not. There are more of the latter than the former I have to say.
It is if when God finished the UK he had enough of the dramatic mountains of Scotland and the wild beauty of Yorkshire and the hilly loveliness of Wales and decided it was time for some peace and quiet.
And that is what you get in this part of the world, peace and quiet. It just seems as if the pace of life is different in this place with the flat farmlands and the wide areas of country. We enjoyed the break.
